Obituary - Margot Frisius
In celebration of a full life well lived, we announce the passing of Margot Frisius at the age of 86. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Margot and her husband Richard, after a life living all over the world, have spent nearly 30 years in Costa Rica, dedicated to their macaw breeding and release program. Margot dreamt that Costa Rica would have beautiful birds returned to the rainforests, and she educated school children, friends and anyone who would listen, on the importance of respecting the needs of the environment and it's beautiful creatures. Co-founder of Amigos de las Aves in Alajuela, Costa Rica, Margot worked tirelessly to insure the preservation of the macaw species in Central America.
Margot's love of the arts, flowers, and all of nature, shines in everything she has undertaken. Her love, strength, and character, have greatly enriched all our lives, and she will be sorely missed.
A Thanksgiving service to celebrate Margot's life was held in Rio Segundo, Alajuela on Saturday 1st of November. The family request any donations in Margot's memory be made to the Hatchedtoflyfree Trust. c/o Richard Frisius, Apdo 2306-4050, Alajuela, Costa Rica
